Istrian Peninsula Tour

The Istrian Peninsula tour ran from October 7-17, 2019. This was our second collaboration with Hellam’s Vineyard. We started out our tour in the Northeastern Italian city of Trieste. It is a lovely harbor city on the Adriatic sea. We left Trieste with our driver Vedran and traveled to our first destination of Rovinj. Along the way we stopped for a wine tasting and lunch at Koslovic Winery in Momjan. We then arrived at our Hotel in Rovinj.

The next day we went for a cruise on the Lim Fjord after lunch and then spent the evening exploring the city of Rovinj. The next day we went to the City of Pula and had a tour of the city with our friends of the area. Next we stopped in Vodjnan and toured the Brist olive oil farm and tasted the oil. The next day we set out for Porec stopping along the way for a truffle hunt and lunch in Buzet then a wine tasting at the Matosevic Winery.

We checked into our amazing hotel on Isabella Island in Porec. We visited the Rossi winery and distillery and had a great time sampling all the different liquor. We visited the city of Motovun and a few more wineries and explored the city of Porec. The next day we returned to Trieste just in time for the last day of the Barcolana regatta. We explored the city and had some great food and wine and the tour ended at breakfast the next day. Marcia and I want to thank our tour members Gail and Paul, Duane, Ron and Leigh for making our small but entertaining tour a success.
